DESCRIPTION:Shradh\, Pitru Paksh\, is a Hindu ceremony performed in the last 15 days of Bhadarmas. It is conducted to express unconditional reverence and honor to departed ancestors. The last day of month is called “SarvaPitru” or “Mahalya Amavysa”. On this day\, shradh can be celebrated if exact Tithi is not known. Shradh is one of the many Sansakaras (Sacred Rites) of Sanatan Dharma. According to Hindu mythology\, after death soul has to wander in the various worlds; Pitru Paksha is an occasion to pacify the departed ancestors by performing Shradha Pooja. It provides momentum to the deceased ancestors present in the Pitru region so that they can progress to a higher sub-plane of existence\, through the means of Shraddha.
